Good morning parents and students. This week, students will get the chance to improve their grades for these strands A4c , A6a , A6c, A7a, A7b, A7c, A7d, A7e, and A7f. You do not have to email me to let me know which strand you want to take. Check studentvue or parentvue to see if any of the strands above qualify for a grade improvement. I recommend that you please check all three quarters to view your grades as some strands may double dip into other quarters. Please go to edmodo to review and complete the assignment titled "Linear Functions PBA". In order to remain on schedule and not fall behind, this PBA will be due by Friday, May 8th by 11:59pm. Please continue to check my Edmodo page. I will post up the PBA timeline for the rest of the year a bit later today. Only five weeks left!

Parents and students,

As stated in the syllabus, anyone is allowed to retake summative assessments only if he/she receives remediation. I will specifically focus on the students that received a 75% or below on summative assessment when I hold remediation sessions. I will not do retakes for formative assessments. Only under certain circumstance will I allow retakes for formative assessments.

For the week of 9/30: Retakes for standards A 8.1 a,b will be held Thursday morning from 8:00 - 8:40 and Thursday/Friday during lunch (11:35-11:55).

Have a great weekend!

9/26/2019
Tutoring tomorrow morning from 8 am- 8:40 am in my room.

9/23/2019

Parents and students,

Per Mrs. Engelmeier Foor request, the students are not allowed to use equipment(footballs, baseballs, kickballs, basketballs, etc.) during bootcamp.  Students are walking to class as they get off their bus and may accidentally get injured while the 8th graders are exercising. Buses are also present at the time of bootcamp and equipment may roll onto the bus loop. The students safety is number 1.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

9/17/2019
Students study for your test tomorrow.
Check edmodo.

 9/10/2019

It was a pleasure meeting parents tonight.

Two Clarification Points:

1. Parents and students, homework announcements will normally be posted on my page between 5-7 pm. This does not mean that the hw is due the following day. Normally, hw will be due by Friday of that week but if you have it the next day, kuddo points to you! This is a way to allow you more time to complete the hw and to come up with any questions you may have. Of course, you are always welcome to ask any questions about the hw when we are reviewing the material. Remember, hw is considered practice. Hw may be classwork that was not completed in class or may be an online activity.

2. Grading policy:

80% - Summative Assignments
20% - Formative Assignments

Summative assignments include unit tests and projects.  All summative assignments are equally weighted.
Formative assignments include quizzes.  All formative assignments are equally weighted.

Points assigned to each assignment will vary depending on the objective. The grade that you receive for the each objective will be converted into a percentage value for each objective. This will make a lot more sense when you receive your first test grades.

Parents, if you have any additional questions, please feel free to email me and allow 24-48 hours for a reply. Keplergj@pwcs.edu
