MEETING DAYS:  Tuesdays, 3:45-5:00pm



Our goal is to provide the students with an opportunity to learn good nutrition and healthy eating habits, to learn to identify nutritious foods and to learn how to prepare a healthy meal they can share with family and friends. This is our third year.
  • We will learn about My Plate and how to read a food nutrient label.
  • We will be discussing how to balance “energy in and energy out”. Did you know it takes 10 minutes of walking at 4.5 mph to burn 52 calories?
  • We will learn about whole grains, protein, fat, and fiber. 
  • We will choose healthy recipes or take regular recipes and by reducing the sugar and fat contents, and using fresh fruits and veggies, make them healthier.
