Hello! I am  excited to be rejoining the Porter family this year! I was fortunate to be part of the team that opened Porter back in 2004. Both of my daughters graduated from Porter! I will be working with English Language Learners in 5th, 6th and 7th grades this year as we navigate science, social studies and language arts. This is my 18th year of teaching in PWCS.

I received my bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. After working in the communications field for several years, I earned a master's degree in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University. In 2011, I received the endorsement of national board certified teacher in adolescent English language arts.

Outside of teaching, I love learning new things like knitting (just starting). I also love to read and enjoy boating with my husband. Here's to having an amazing year!

During the first quarter we will be using Canvas, an online Learning Management System.  Soon I will be posting more information and links on how to access my course page in canvas.  STAY TUNED in and check back.

Canvas is our NEW Learning platform. All communications, instruction and school related information will be shared through this system. Below are links and videos which will help you to learn and use Canvas and make it easier for you when the school year actually starts on September 8th, 2020.
