If you have a basketball and hoop practice “shooting hoops” and moving further away from the hoop every time you make the basket. You can also do the same with rolled up socks and a laundry basket if you don’t have a basketball.

     Hello Everyone! My name is Kathleen Valdes and this is my 12th year as a teacher in Prince William County. I taught 7th grade language arts for 11 years and coached boys and girls track and field for 8 years at Lake Ridge Middle. In my free time, I love running mainly outdoors and I enjoy weight lifting in the gym.   I am very excited to finally be working with both elementary and middle school students. I am enjoying the many hugs that I receive throughout the day. :-)

     This year, I will be teaching 4th-8th grade PE and Mr. Mathias will be teaching 1st-2nd grade PE. Miss Bortfeld will be helping out this year to also teach 7th and 8th grade PE.

     All grades will have an extra recess time throughout the year called organized recess, and I will be in charge with providing extra recess time to all the grades, 1st-8th.
