Playing Kids.pngMarch... We know that the news about the COVID-19 Virus has been troubling for many of our students.  Feelings of fear, anxiety, and helplessness are normal any time we experience such global events.  We want to do our best to ensure that students have accurate information about this virus and it’s spread.  PWCS Student Services have prepared resources to help us help students during this stressful time. Porter Counselors have been educating students on how to be safe during these hard times.

Ms. Kargbo:

Your child will be participating in the “SAFE AT HOME/SAFE ALONE” program, which is sponsored by 4-H and developed by Virginia Cooperative Extension to offer education to families on the subject of children in selfcare. The Youth Book is filled with real life situations that could occur when home alone, along with information on life skills that enable a child to cope with these situations. Parent Guide is available through PDF format that parallels the youth book. Please use this opportunity to have important conversations with your child about staying safe.

Students will be given a youth book to take home after lesson is complete.
