My name is Ms. Kargbo,  Director of School Counseling. This is my 5th year at Porter and I look forward to another exciting year of learning.

This year, students will complete a needs assessment to help determine the areas in which counseling services can be most beneficial to them. With the rise in the use of Social Media and Mental Health, students will also receive guidance lessons on Internet Safety encouraging them to Pause Before They Post. As well as Growth Mindset, empowering them to build Resilience and maintain Self-Care.

We will have classroom guidance lessons and class meetings hosted monthly throughout the year. Students will engage in career exploration prior to Career Day. As well as, Transition to High School lessons for 8th grade students. Finally, they will participate in community service projects such as Operation Turkey and Pennies for Patients.

Please contact me with any concerns you may have, or share any information that will be helpful as I work with your student. Email
Kargboce@pwcs.edu or contact 703-580-6501.

Don't forget to check the school's webpage periodically for updates.

Yours in Education,

Ms. Kargbo
