Meet our Admin Team

Mrs. Kaitlyn Engelmeier-Foor is proud to be beginning her 21st year at Mary G. Porter Traditional School and her 9th year as principal. Throughout her career at Porter, she has served in several roles, including 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher, Teacher on Administrative Assignment, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Her deep commitment to the Porter community and its tradition of excellence has guided her work in creating an environment where every student is challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve their personal best.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Engelmeier-Foor earned dual bachelor’s degrees in history and Secondary Education-Social Studies from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. 

She later earned a master's degree in Supervision and Evaluation of Instruction from George Mason University, launching her administrative career in 2010.

A passionate advocate for instructional excellence, Mrs. Engelmeier-Foor has presented at conferences throughout the United States; on topics such as effective instructional practices, educational leadership, and technology integration. In recognition of her leadership, she was named Virginia's National Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year in 2018. She is also a graduate of the Statewide Communities of Practice for Excellence (S.C.O.P.E.) program through the University of Virginia and was selected as a Cahn Distinguished Principals Fellow for the 2024–2025 school year.

Outside of school, Mrs. Engelmeier-Foor enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young children. She considers it a privilege to serve the Porter Traditional School community and looks forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to continue the school's tradition of excellence.

Staff Name, Executive Administrative Assistant

Dr. Teri Lewis is honored to join the Porter community as a Resident Principal. With more than twenty years of experience in education, she has served as a teacher, university professor, instructional specialist, and school and division administrator. Across each of these roles, her focus has remained the same: helping students thrive and supporting educators in their growth.

Dr. Lewis most recently served as assistant principal at Lake Ridge Elementary School. Prior to Lake Ridge, she served as assistant principal at Saunders Middle School for five years, and she also served as an elementary summer school principal. She started her career as an English teacher at Charlottesville High School. 

Dr. Lewis earned a bachelor's degree in English from Spelman College, a master's degree in English/English Education from the University of South Florida, and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Florida. Go Gators!

When she's not at school, Dr. Lewis enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband, Markus, and their dog, Blue, and finding her next challenge on the Peloton.

Mr. Wood is excited to start his second year here as Porter’s Assistant Principal. I have been part of the Prince William County School District for 15 years. I have served in various roles along with teaching, such as baseball coach, athletic director, and leadership roles within the county. In the last two years, I have served as Middle School Assistant Principal for Fred Lynn Middle School and Summer School Principal for Elementary schools.

 These days I spend most of my personal time with my wonderful wife and my four-year-old son who just started t-ball. I will do everything I can to serve our community with respect, transparency, and effective communication while building relationships with all stakeholders.
