Volunteer Opportunities

Parent/guardians are required to complete 10 hours a year per child attending Porter. All hours must be completed by the last day of school.

General Volunteer Sign-up

We've have a VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP for any miscellaneous volunteer work we have for the front office. Such as sorting, stapling, assembly, boxing up, etc.... We will keep it updated as opportunities come up...so, be sure to take a look at it periodically.

Volunteering in the Cafeteria

11:00am - 2:00pm

NO sign-up required.  We ask that you work at least 1 hour.

Volunteers help the cafeteria hostesses do many things, such as: wiping tables between classes, sweeping/mopping up spills, reminding students to walk, eat their own food, and sit facing the front; as well as keeping their hands to themselves.

Front Door Greeter

Since we have the EVOLV screening system, we would like to have a volunteer in the front vestibule area to ensure all visitors go through the screening system and then proceed into the office.  
All you have to do is: 

  1. Say "HELLO"
  2. Direct the visitor into the front office to sign in. 

We have 2-hour shifts starting at 9:30m and ending at 3:30pm. 
**NOTE**If you sign up, please be sure to show up.  If you are unable to come in for your shift, PLEASE CANCEL YOUR SIGN UP.

Volunteer for Middle School staff

Porter's Middle School staff have volunteer requests very often.  Here is where you can sign-up for helping out.  Generally you are making copies, stapling, sorting, etc...  Be sure to check here often!
