2023 PWCS Summer Programs


Prince William County Public Schools offers summer academic and enrichment opportunities for students in grades K-12. The summer program provides students various educational opportunities that serve to mitigate summer learning loss and prepare students for future learning experiences, which ultimately leads to improved student achievement. Students will be recommended for the summer school program by their current teachers or counselors.

Registration for all programs will open April 10 and run until May 26, 2023.

Elementary School - July 10– July 28

Middle School - July 10– July 28

IF you received a letter from Porter recommending your student for PWCS SUMMER SCHOOL, use the following directions to REGISTER for Summer School:

1-Log into ParentVUE

2-Click on ONLINE RECORDS in the top right corner

3-Click the dropdown arrow in the blue box

4-Select “2022-23 Student Withdrawal PK-12”

5-Click “Begin online packet”

REGISTRATION IS OPEN! We are excited to announce that sign-ups are open for current Porter students to attend. Use the link below with more information on the Learning Labs and the links to register.

The DEADLINE to register is Friday, May 26, 2023 at 4:00pm.

PORTER LEARNING LABS FAQ's:

  1. Are students required to wear a Porter uniform to attend? NO, students are not required to wear the Porter uniform to summer Learning Labs. They DO need to follow the PWCS DRESS CODE (page 18).
  2. Do students need to bring a laptop? NO, if computer access is needed for the camp, we will provide the computer.
  3. Do students need to provide their own snack? NO, we will provide a snack to all students. However, students may bring a snack of their own, if they wish to.
  4. Will transportation be provided for Summer Learning Labs? NO, parents/guardians are required to drop off and pick up their student. ALL arrivals and dismissals will run through the carline. The Porter CARLINE PROCEDURES will be followed.

Porter families will receive a final confirmation email about your selected Learning Labs and weeks of attendance no later than June 9th. Please keep a watch on your inbox for further updates.

PWCS DISCOVERY ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS


PWCS Discovery Enrichment Programs offer students the opportunity to explore interests and strengthen skills, with over 15 different camps. Here are just a few of the areas: art, coding, PE, STEM, mythology, speaking, and history. Dates and times vary. Discovery programs have associated tuition costs. Registration for all Discovery programs is done in Student Quick Pay.

FYI….Discovery Enrichment Programs are available free of charge for students participating in the Free/Reduce Meal benefits. Use the link below for more information on this benefit.
